Day 1: Tangier – Tetouan – Chefchaouen

Your journey begins in the morning with pickup from your hotel or the port in Tangier. You leave the city and travel through the beautiful landscapes of northern Morocco, passing Tetouan and small villages along the way. The road leads into the Rif Mountains, offering green hills and scenic views. By midday, you arrive in Chefchaouen, the famous blue city. You have plenty of time to walk through the blue-painted streets, explore small squares, visit local shops, and enjoy the relaxed mountain atmosphere. In the evening, you can enjoy dinner in a local restaurant and take a peaceful walk through the medina. Overnight stay in Chefchaouen.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

After breakfast, you leave Chefchaouen and travel south toward the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. Upon arrival, you explore the well-preserved mosaics, columns, and old Roman structures while learning about Morocco’s Roman history. Afterward, you continue to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities. Here, you visit Bab Mansour, walk through the old medina, and see the city walls. After lunch, you drive to Fes, arriving in the late afternoon. You check in to your riad or hotel and relax after a full day of travel and sightseeing. Overnight stay in Fes.

Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt

After breakfast, you leave Fes and head south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. The scenery changes from city life to green hills and forested landscapes. You stop in Ifrane, known for its clean streets and European-style buildings, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco.” The journey continues to the cedar forests near Azrou, where you may see Barbary monkeys in their natural habitat. After lunch, you continue through mountain roads and small villages toward Midelt. The air becomes drier as you approach the desert region. You arrive in Midelt in the afternoon, check in to your hotel, and enjoy a relaxing evening. Overnight in Midelt.

Day 4: Midelt – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, you leave Midelt and travel toward the Sahara Desert. The road descends into the beautiful Ziz Valley, offering wide views of palm groves, rivers, and traditional oasis villages. Several stops are made along the way to enjoy the scenery and take photos. Passing through Erfoud, known for fossils and date palms, you continue to Merzouga. In the late afternoon, you arrive at the edge of the Sahara Desert, where camels are waiting. You ride your camel across the Erg Chebbi dunes, enjoy the silence of the desert, and watch the sunset. You then reach your desert camp, where you enjoy dinner, local music, and a peaceful night under the stars.

Day 5: Merzouga Desert – Sunrise – Erfoud – End of Tour

You wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, one of the most unforgettable moments of the tour. After breakfast at the camp, you ride camels back or return by 4×4 to Merzouga village. Depending on your travel plans, you begin the journey back north, passing through Erfoud and desert landscapes. Along the way, there are stops for rest and photos. The tour ends with drop-off at the agreed location, marking the end of your Tangier to Chefchaouen and Sahara Desert Discovery Tour.
