Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt

Your journey begins in the morning with pickup from your hotel or riad in Fes. Leaving the city behind, you travel south through the Middle Atlas Mountains, enjoying green landscapes and fresh air. You stop in Ifrane, known for its clean streets and alpine-style buildings, before continuing to the cedar forests near Azrou, where Barbary monkeys live freely. After time to walk and take photos, you continue through mountain roads and small villages toward Midelt. You check in to your hotel, relax, and enjoy dinner before spending the night.

Day 2: Midelt – Ziz Valley – Errachidia

After breakfast, you leave Midelt and travel toward the Ziz Valley, one of the most beautiful oasis regions in Morocco. The road offers panoramic views of long palm groves, rivers, and traditional villages built along the valley. Several stops are made to enjoy the scenery and take photos. In the afternoon, you arrive in Errachidia, an important town near the desert, where you check in to your hotel and enjoy a relaxed evening.

Day 3: Errachidia – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert

Following breakfast, you continue south through dry landscapes and desert towns. You pass through Erfoud, known for fossils and date products, where you may visit a local workshop. In the afternoon, you arrive in Merzouga, located at the edge of the Sahara Desert. Here, you prepare for a camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes. Riding slowly through the golden sand, you enjoy the silence of the desert and watch the sunset before reaching your desert camp, where dinner, local music, and a night under the stars await.

Day 4: Merzouga Desert Exploration – Erg Chebbi

You wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes and enjoy breakfast at the camp. This full day is dedicated to exploring the Merzouga region and its surroundings. You may visit nomad families, desert villages, and nearby oases, learning about local desert life. There is time to relax in the dunes, take short walks, or enjoy optional activities such as sandboarding or a 4×4 desert drive. You spend a second night near the dunes in a hotel or desert camp.

Day 5: Merzouga – Rissani – Ziz Valley

After breakfast, you leave Merzouga and travel to Rissani, a traditional market town with a long history of desert trade. You explore the local market and learn about the region’s culture. The journey continues back through parts of the Ziz Valley, offering different views and landscapes. You stop along the way for photos and rest before spending the night at a hotel in the valley region.

Day 6: Ziz Valley – Midelt – Middle Atlas – Fes

On the final day, you travel north through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through Midelt and scenic mountain roads. Along the way, you stop for lunch and short breaks to enjoy the views. In the late afternoon or early evening, you arrive back in Fes, where you will be dropped off at your accommodation, marking the end of your Sahara desert discovery tour.
