In the afternoon, you travel south into the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you check in to your hotel and enjoy a peaceful night surrounded by mountain scenery.
Following breakfast, you continue through the Middle Atlas region. You stop in Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” because of its alpine-style buildings and clean streets. The journey continues to the cedar forests near Azrou, where you may see Barbary monkeys. After lunch, you drive through mountain landscapes to Midelt, a town located between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains, where you spend the night.
After breakfast, the landscape begins to change as you travel south through the Ziz Valley, famous for its long palm groves and oasis villages. You stop at scenic viewpoints to enjoy the views and take photos. Continuing through Erfoud, known for fossils and date palms, you arrive in Merzouga in the afternoon. Here, you begin a camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes, enjoy a beautiful sunset, and reach your desert camp for dinner, music, and an overnight stay under the stars.
You wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast at the camp. This day is dedicated to exploring the Merzouga area, including visits to nomad families, desert villages, and nearby oases.
