Crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains to Fes
Your tour starts early in the morning with pickup from your accommodation in Marrakech. You travel through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass, with stops for photos and panoramic views. The journey continues to the famous Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site, followed by lunch nearby. In the afternoon, you continue to Ouarzazate, where you spend the night at a hotel.
After breakfast, you leave Ouarzazate and drive through the Skoura oasis, known for its palm groves and historic kasbahs. The road continues through the Valley of Roses before reaching the Dades Valley. You will enjoy scenic viewpoints and short walks before spending the night at a hotel or guesthouse in the Dades Valley.
Following breakfast, you travel to the impressive Todra Gorges, where you have time to walk between the high canyon walls. The journey continues through desert towns such as Erfoud, famous for fossils and date palms. In the afternoon, you arrive in Merzouga, where you start your camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes. You will watch the sunset over the sand dunes before reaching your desert camp for dinner, traditional music, and an overnight stay.
You wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the Sahara dunes, followed by breakfast at the camp. After returning to Merzouga village by camel or 4×4, you continue toward Rissani, an important trading town with a traditional market. The journey then leads to Errachidia and through the beautiful Ziz Valley, known for its long palm groves and oasis scenery. You spend the night at a hotel along the route.
After breakfast, the tour continues north through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through Midelt and cedar forest areas. Along the way, you may stop to see Barbary monkeys and enjoy mountain landscapes. In the afternoon or early evening, you arrive in Fes, where you will be dropped off at your accommodation, marking the end of the tour.
